The 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire HD goes far to correct many of the issues that plagued Amazon's first foray into tablets nearly a year ago. The Fire HD also introduces several tech enhancements over competing tablets, and while in the end the Kindle Fire HD falls short of Amazon's goal of being the best tablet at any price, it does excel on many metrics—and at $199 for the 16GB version and $249 for the 32GB version, it delivers a strong, value-priced experience that's optimized for consuming stuff from Amazon.

How iPhone availability has grown in US



The first few iPhones were available in the U.S. only through AT&T. Verizon Wireless broke AT&T's exclusive grip on the iPhone last year, and other phone carriers have since started selling it as well.
Apple hasn't announced all the carriers that will get the new iPhone 5. Apple's online store names AT&T, Sprint and Verizon, though many smaller carriers have been selling it directly.

AT&T’s Wireless Division Reaches Tentative Accord With CWA Union


AT&T Inc.the largest U.S. phone company, said its wireless division reached a tentative agreement with the Communications Workers of America in benefit negotiations for more than 40,000 employees nationwide.
The accord will be submitted to the CWA’s membership for a ratification vote, Dallas-based AT&T said in a statement today. The deal is focused on benefits including health care.

Jony Ive stopped by to say he was very pleased with its performance on stage, and ordered iPhone 5 to get some sleep. Tim Cook plugged iPhone 5 in for a power refresh with its new Lightning connector and fondly wiped its screen of the smudges from too much handling during the auspicious event.
